Our philosophy is built on evidence based nutrition principles, experience, simplicity and encouragement. We will transform your mindset, build your knowledge and skills allowing you to create sustainable habits to reach your true potential. We help you to prioritize the most important areas of your lifestyle and nutrition by identifying where you are right now and what your current needs are. We focus on the 5 pillars of high performance, as nutrition is just one component of reaching your full potential.
It is important to understand and recognise how you see yourself living every day. Become aware of where you are now and decide on where you want to go and how you want to live each day in the future. This is how you will recognise the habits that need to be changed or adjusted. By doing so, you will create a clearer vision of how you can build and implement the pillars of performance into your life.
What meal plan should I follow?
It is very interesting to hear people’s general perception of what a nutritionist does. They often think that nutritionists just tell you what to eat to achieve a goal and that’s it, or they give you a meal plan to follow and check-in to see if you are following it. A performance nutritionist provides the ‘information’ for success and you just follow it? Is it really as simple as that? If you are just looking for a meal plan, then you have come to the wrong place!!
A meal plan is just one small element of the resources we provide and ideally a person will create it for themselves based on their schedule and lifestyle. That is why we spend so much time creating new recipes. On the daveynutrition website, you can choose your favourite recipes and create your own plan for the week, which has the calories and macronutrient information broken down for you. Here at daveynutrition, we aim to understand the challenges you may face when it comes to your lifestyle and nutrition and help you find solutions for those challenges. We do NOT just tell you what to eat. We help you understand the principles of nutrition, the science behind those principles and help you find the most effective ways to implement those principles for better health and performance. Through this approach you learn to deal with barriers, enjoy food and manage the challenges and adversity in life.
What does a consultation look like?
As a team, we are dedicated to helping you reach your full potential. As you can see above, the process is detailed but worthwhile. It is an investment into yourself.
- Book in for a 1-1 consultation with one of the team
- Complete your pre-consultation form
- Have your consultation
– discussion around your current lifestyle and nutrition,
– what your goal is
–developing a personalized roadmap to achieve that goal.
- Following the consultation, you will receive a follow-up resource with information and reference points from your conversation
- It is now a self guided process whereby you have the conversation with your nutritionist, gain a clear understanding of where you are, your current needs and goals to develop an action plan, including key areas to target.
- Develop your ownership and independence to implement the target areas before your next session*.
*Your nutritionist will advise you on when to book in for your next appointment, allowing time for you to implement the changes and make adequate progress towards your goal before meeting again.

How do you know you need a consultation?
Ultimately, the decision is up to you. It will depend on how much ownership and independence you have in terms of your lifestyle and nutrition. If you feel you need a lot of 1-1 support, then consultations are the way to go. For those who need tools to help support their health and performance goals, a website membership would be a more suitable option.
