Ingredients
For the burgers
- 500 g Ground beef
- 1 clove Garlic (crushed)
- 1 Red onion (finely chopped)
- 1 Free-range egg
- ½ tsp Salt
- ½ tsp Ground pepper
- ½ tsp Basil (tried)
- ½ tsp Chilli powder
- 1 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
For the relish
- 5 Tomatoes (500g, chopped)
- 200 ml White wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil (for frying)
- 1 Onion (sliced)
- 1 clove Garlic (crushed)
- 1 Red chilli (finely chopped)
- 1 tbsp Honey
- 1 handful Coriander (fresh)
- ½ tbsp Curry powder
Instructions
- Beat the egg along with garlic, basil, chilli, salt and pepper.
- In a large bowl and using your hands, add the chopped onion to the beef mince.
- Next, add the egg mix, mixing well using your hands and then form into four burgers (quarter pounders).
- Refrigerate for 30 minutes, and pre-heat the oven to 190°C.
- On a baking tray greased with olive oil, cook for 20 to 30 minutes depending on how well you like your burgers done.
