The antioxidant anthocyanin, gives the rich red colour to cherries, which is known to play a role in supporting cardiovascular health and eliminating free radicals from the body. This recipe is a great post training smoothie to kick start your recovery or hold you over until your next big meal. Add in some tart cherry juice too, if in need of a higher hit of antioxidants.

Ingredients

  • 300 ml Milk
  • 2 scoop Whey protein powder
  • 160 g Frozen cherries
  • ½ Avocado
  • 4 tsp Cacao powder
  • 1 Banana
  • 2 tbsp Almond butter
  • 10 Ice-cubes
2 Servings

Instructions

  • Blend all ingredients for 2-3 minutes and serve.
