I now have the tools to be able to look after the nutritional side of things.The way food makes me feel, mentally more than physically is very powerful. I’ve learned I am a retrospective learner, not sure that is a thing!!! When I re read, re watch, re listen to the material the knowledge comes to me, rarely on the first time I look at it. I’m still getting nuggets from some of the workshops.

This programme needed to happen for me. I had to start making lifestyle changes as the way I was carrying on was not healthy or sustainable. I am happy with the changes I've been making. The fact that I am now at a point where I can look back on my old self and wonder 'what the hell was I doing?' in terms of restrictive eating, over training etc means I've gained a better perspective.

I’ve learned how to plan and how this can positively affect both my eating and save me money from not wasting. It’s also saved me time and put me in a better head space in the kitchen. In planning the habit of having structured meals and snacks spread out to avoid mindless snacking.
I see this journey as a life long process. Habits stick which is great and there’s still lots of things I want to work on to progress further.

I came into this programme with the mindset of: I'm going to give this my all! I didn't really know what to expect but I just said I'll dedicate the time into reading, engaging and seeing how I get on... I've cooked more than I ever have before, I'm learning what works and what doesn't. I'm thinking more about my food choices. I just feel good. After I cook a nice dinner at home with quality food, I sit down and just feel fulfilled. I'm using different flavours, cooking with food I never would have looked at before and just giving things a go. I don't feel the same need I used to have to open the biscuits in the evening

Before I began this programme, I was fully convinced you had to track and use my fitness pal to lose weight/gain weight/improve performance etc. However, Gemma's advice has allowed me to be exactly where I need to be 6 weeks out from my marathon and now have the knowledge to continue my own nutrition preparation leading up to the day, without obsessing over the numbers
